For many of the ISAPS Plastic Surgeons flying to Miami Beach for the 2018 Congress, visiting Florida offers a chance for an unforgettable family vacation. After all, the ISAPS Congress is only one weekend (Oct. 31–Nov. 4), and after it is over, you can find yourself with lots of free time in one of the most vacation-friendly states in all of the US. You may want to use that time to take the family and hit some of the tourist hotspots around Florida. And when we are talking about tourism in Florida, it’s impossible to ignore the elephant in the room: Walt Disney World.

Walt Disney World is known the world over as one of the most incredible vacation destinations ever. Offering four major theme parks, three water parks, incredible shopping opportunities, and numerous world-class hotels, Walt Disney World often overshadows many of the other incredible attractions throughout Florida that are well worth a visit. If you want more than just Disney on your ISAPS Congress-inspired family vacation in Florida, look no further!

Universal Orlando Resort

Disney’s biggest competitor, Universal Studios offers two incredible theme parks (Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure), a brand-new water park (Volcano Bay), excellent shopping opportunities, and fantastic hotels. If you are a fan of franchises like Harry Potter, The Fast & the Furious, The Simpsons or Jurassic Park, then Universal Studios might be the destination for you! Even if you are primarily planning on spending your time at Disney, Universal Studios is also located in Orlando. So book an extra day or two for your trip to spend at Universal and you will be all set.

SeaWorld Orlando

Highlighting conservation of sea life, and featuring some of the most incredible marine animals ever seen, SeaWorld is an amusement and marine zoological park that offers both entertainment and education for children (and children-at-heart) of all ages!

If you’re looking for thrill rides, you will find rollercoasters and other exciting park rides, all themed around the sea. If you’re looking for live entertainment, there are the killer whale and dolphin shows. If you are looking for delicious food, you will find a restaurant where you can eat while you’re surrounded by hungry sharks (don’t worry, they are in tanks). SeaWorld really is a place you should see to believe.

NASA Kennedy Space Center

John F. Kennedy inspired the United States to throw its muscle fully into the space program and send a man to the moon before the end of the 60s. Today, the NASA Kennedy Space Center continues to inspire people to dream of the stars.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is your entry point into the incredible world of space exploration. Still the United States’ primary launch site for space missions, you will find yourself right at the heart of space exploration in America. In the Visitor Complex, you will find detailed exhibits, simulators, and historical artifacts from past missions. They also offer a bus tour of the entire Space Center. If you love space, then this is a must-visit!

Golf Courses

Forget about the old stereotype that all doctors love golf because, well, golf is an incredible sport and Florida offers some of the best golf courses in the world!

From the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach to the Seminole Golf Course and Club in Juno Beach, you will find stunning courses with some of the most beautiful weather in the world! There really is nothing like teeing off on a sunny Florida day!

Beaches

Although there are beautiful beaches all over Florida, it’s impossible not to mention the world-famous beaches of Miami Beach, right where ISAPS will be hosting the Congress. If you are booking at room at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel for the Congress, be sure to book an additional few days to spend lounging out on the beach, enjoying the white sands and beautiful waters.

Everglades

If you love the great outdoors, then a visit to the Everglades National Park should definitely be in the cards for your trip. Offering a pristine national environment, you will find a variety of different attractions, ranging from alligator farms, to hiking trails, to water sports of all kinds. If you want to leave behind the man-made tourist attractions and instead enjoy nature’s own amusement park, then the Everglades are the place to go.

Of course, you shouldn’t discount Miami Beach itself for tourist attractions and entertainment. There is an excellent reason we picked it for this year’s Congress! With world-class cuisine, famous nightclubs, stunning architecture and, of course, unparalleled beaches, you just may want to spend all of your time in Miami Beach after the Congress is over!

But your vacation could be cut short before it begins unless you book your spot at the 2018 ISAPS Congress as soon as possible. Booking ahead offers great advantages, such as a lower overall price, and the benefit of being able to plan ahead. Booking a room at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel should also be high on your to-do list! The Congress takes place in just over 100 days, so make sure you will be here for THE premiere global aesthetic meeting, attended by the best ISAPS Plastic Surgeons the world over!
